Most parents do not know how to monitor their kid’s grades or maybe they do not know technology very well. I am here to provide assistance to parents who have kids in the Killeen Independent School District that may not know to maneuver through Home Access (the online Parent/Student portal).
Once you’re are in Home Access you can see assignments, grades and attendance.
If you don’t have an account, contact your child’s school to register for home access.
[Once you have registered, take the following steps:]
2. Click on Home Access
3. Put in your User ID and Password
You can add all your students in one account like on Home Access. You can even set it up to notify you if your child drops below a grade level that you set. The way to set that up is simple. Click on your name (the parent or guardian), scroll down to alerts, click on email if want course average sent to you in email. Click mobile push if want text, then fill in where it says ‘if my student receives a course average below___ (whatever number you decide) % or above __ (whatever number you decide)’.
Schoology is where most of the middle and high school students do their assignments. There are features that allow parents to see grades, assignments, and attendance. In Schoology you can also set it up to where you can receive weekly emails showing you how your child is doing, and what they turned in during the past week. Contact your child’s instructor to get the access code. You can go into settings and set up all kinds of alerts that you would like to see regarding your child’s schoolwork.
These are great ways to keep up with your kid’s schoolwork and grades. You will be able to see what is going on with your kids regularly before it is to late.
